Hampshire Beekeepers' Honey Show & Convention

 

Once again Sparsholt College (Westley Lane, Hampshire. SO21 2NF) are hosting the event with Julie Milburn, the college Principal welcoming visitors at 9am and introducing their horticulture department’s multiple winner of Chelsea gold medals Chris Bird, talking about pollination from a horticultural perspective.

While the judges deliberate, the event will feature popular national speakers.

  • 10.15-11.15 Margaret Murdin,  past President of BBKA, talking on ‘The Queen’.
    • 11.45-12.45 Lynfa Davies NDB talking on ‘Many uses for nuclei’.

There will also be a workshop and seminars on practical microscopy, and all aspects of swarms and beekeeping in poor weather—particular apt this year.  At the time of booking you are able to select 2 of 3 workshops/talks in classrooms:

  • Christine Coulsting - Practical Microscopy, ‘Looking at pollen & anatomy’.
  • Geoff Blay - ‘Poor Weather Beekeeping and coping with climate changes’.
  • Jim Griffiths - ‘Swarming - Opportunity or Problem?’
