Beeswax Food Wrap Workshops

Beeswax food wraps are becoming very popular as they are plastic free, waste free, non toxic and reusable.  They are a great alternative to ‘one use items’ like clingfilm and plastic that aren’t bio-degradable.

The workshop will last a couple of hours and will include an introduction to beeswax and its properties, its use as a wax wrap and then demonstrating how it's done, giving hints, tips and potential hazards or problems.  It will outline the legislation which is coming into force regarding the sale of wraps to the public.

This workshop is being sponsored by Wisborough Green Division and will be run by Gwyn Marsh at the Emmanuel Fellowship Chapel, Spy Lane, Loxwood, RH14 0SS.  Gwyn has been keeping bees for 12 years and had a background in education, teaching, lecturing and research.  She has run workshops at the National Honey Show and local clubs demonstrating a relatively simple method of making wraps for friends and family.

Workshop times are 10:30—12:30: 13:00—15:00 and 15:00—17:00.  The last session will only run if the first two are full.

Bookings are essential and for full details see the February Newsletter.
